GENTRY SMITH –

Script editor for Paper Street Comics – Writer/Letterer/Gray Tones/Covers for Lost in the Woods -  writer Careful... - Filmmaker

Gentry and Victor have been close friends since their junior year in college (1998), where they were spent many nights animating clay-figures for a class using 16mm film. Gentry graduated with a BA in Studio Art from Arizona State University and went on to earn an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California.  His thesis project, titled "Unwelcome", is currently showing throughout the U.S. on the independent film festival circuit and won the audience award at the 2004 New York City Horror Film Festival.  Due to USC's copyright standards we are not able to show the film on this site.

Gentry is hard at work on his second indie-funded film "The Farmer's Daughter".  Stay tuned for more details and a sneak preview!

While attending USC Gentry also created the story and artwork for a small independent comic book title "Residue". This is the story of one woman's journey through Japan, where she is trapped within a world of possession and murder. He also created the comic strip "Across the Hall" for the ASU school paper, which was a huge hit with the 40K+ student body.  Gentry’s comic work will continue as he is currently developing several of his scripts into a comic book format.

Gentry has also played a huge role in being the script editor for all Paper Street titles.  He also contributed to the final Pencilneck trade with the stunning cover shown throughout this website.
